How is Big Lots able to sell Revlon cosmetics so cheap?

My nearby Big Lots is selling Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadow for $2 bucks each while the same product cost 6.49 at Walgreens (see link below) Why is it that Big Lots are selling these products for less than one-third the price? Are they expired, undesired?? Anyone has any insider info?

Usually the products they're selling cheap have been bought in large lots from stores unable to sell them. Now the manufacturers want them off the shelves of those stores because either the product has been discontinued or has been repackaged, so the old ones won't match the new stock.

Since most kinds of makeup don't suffer from age, you can get some great bargains. Avoid liquid foundation, though. How is Big Lots able to sell Revlon cosmetics so cheap?
It's called ';mark up'; or ';what the market will bear'; or ';bulk buying'; .... You'll find the same thing at the ';dollar stores.'; They buy in huge quantities from China , sell things for $1 that Big Lots sells for $2 and Wal Mart etc. sell for $4 or more. Sometimes the low price stuff is ';overstock'; or ';liquidator'; stuff.... still good... just possibly limited in style/color etc. It pays to ';shop around'; for the best deal. It also pays to show the ';specials '; and to use coupons and rebates (many of which can now be done online... sans stamps!) With gas getting close to $4/ gallon we'll all be looking for the best ';deals'; ... on everything!
I don't know, maybe approaching expiration?

*EDIT* The poster above me is right. Now that I was thinking about it, I was always getting one particular lip gloss and when the drug store was closing I asked what happened to their glosses they said the beauty products went to *discount* stores...Big Lots and .99 cent stores. Forgot about that one.

:)
No, big lots buys from the manufacturer in bulk so that they can sell to you for cheaper than department stores.
they probably get them at wholesale prices.
because its made by child labor in a 3rd world company, hope you look nice! ;)
maybe its not the same brand as in they are fake
