Is cosmetic dentisty in Thailand safe and reliable? and as cheap as they say?

I want to get some work done on my teeth in Thailand, because I don't have the insurance to cover it in America and I will be in Thailand soon. I want to get Invisalign braces and some porcelain veneers. Does anyone have experience or advice about getting this kind of work done in Thailand? Thank you!Is cosmetic dentisty in Thailand safe and reliable? and as cheap as they say?
No,its not safe in Thailand,i have handled cases that were messed up in Thailand, very simple cases also. The surgical acumen of the thailand doctors is not that good.If you wish to get a cheap dental treatment go to India. It is much much better than Thailand.33% of the physicians in USA today are from India.

Get dental surgery in India.Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as all surgery is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done, you are better off getting it done in India.

my cousin got her complete dental surgery through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is more than very happy with the results.she just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA.hope this helps.

you can plan your treatment and your vacation in India and be happy with it.I strongly recommend you not to go to Thailand for treatment and infact take a hopping flight to India for your treatment if your work is very necessary in ThailandIs cosmetic dentisty in Thailand safe and reliable? and as cheap as they say?
Dentist in the west will tell you it's a bad idea to do your dentistry in Thailand, because they are losing business to Thai dentists. The above response appears to serve a personal interest. Do more research on dentistry in Thailand. Report Abuse

yeah, it's cheap, but i'm not sure if it's all reliable. i'd mos def get a list of some docs and check their credentials out. have you tried mexico??

It is cheaper. Reliable I don't know. There are some high quality practioners in Thailand trained by the best in the field. How to find them is what you really need to know. The reason they are less expensive is the cost of living and the lack of liability laws.

Good luck
On the whole, cosmetic dental work is reliable in Thailand. Go with a known, chain clinic or hospital and you will get professional services of high quality. Thailand is going for boutique hospital and dental services in a big way these days. It IS as cheap as they say it is, so get it while it's hot. Having said this, I have to add that Thai laws lag far behind most of the 1st world as far as consumer protection goes, but the proportion of people receiving sub standard care to those that get it done right makes the risk element very slight indeed. It's easy to shop around here (I'm living in Thailand) and private medical/dental is superb. Go for it.
It is, provided that you use a reliable dentist. I've been living in Thailand for 4 years and I've used a Thai dentist for routine services as well as crowning. I'd suggest you choose one that is fluent in English and preferably educated and trained in the US.

There is also an American dentist (retired USAF Col) who has a dental practice at JUSMAG (Joint U.S. Military Advisory Group). He is fees are considerable higher than Thai dentists.

As for cost, Medical and dental expenses in Thailand are a fraction of what you'd pay in the US. Example = a root canal and a 4 tooth crown cost me 3000 Thai Baht (Approx $75.00) The dental equipment is modern, same as you'd see in the US, quality of dentisry is also the same.
